My journey at Lightheart Entertainment began as a freelance artist, where I embarked on the creative process by developing the assets needed to create new worlds for the game "Mr Autofire" and crafting skins for existing characters and enemies. As my involvement deepened, I transitioned into a full-time position, where I am actively engaged in the game development process, consistently expanding my skill set. I've been mastering Unity and have become proficient in creating a diverse range of gaming assets.
I greatly enjoy my role, which allows me to continually push the boundaries of gaming artistry. It offers autonomy and independence within a horizontal, non-hierarchical work environment.
At e.Near, I served as a Graphic Production Artist, primarily collaborating with a multinational online casino and slot machine client: Inspired Entertaintment. This role allowed me to be deeply immersed in the game development pipeline, preparing assets and animations for seamless integration into various games.
During my tenure, I played a vital role in shipping over +15 games. My role involved close collaboration with developers, ensuring the smooth transition of assets and animations into our different games. I showcased adaptability by collaborating with diverse teams on a wide range of projects, both internal and external. The client environment presented organizational challenges, but I actively sought opportunities to collaborate with art directors whenever possible. Over time, my dedication and commitment earned me greater creative freedom.
At Bica Studios, I took on the dual role of UI Designer and Concept Artist, contributing my creative expertise to shape the visual aspects of various projects. Working at a startup, I honed my communication skills, while navigating the challenges of working under tight management.
I participated in the game development process by using Git tools to provide assets and animations for our games. This hands-on experience deepened my understanding of the development pipeline and workflow.
During a brief yet enriching period, I served as a User Interface Instructor at ETIC Algarve, where I passionately shared my knowledge and expertise in this field.
Teaching the intricacies of User Interface design for video games was an immensely gratifying experience. I thoroughly enjoyed guiding and mentoring students, providing them with valuable insights to enhance their projects. Witnessing their growth and progress was deeply rewarding.
My tenure at Planetarium Games marked the beginning of my journey into the video game industry. Despite the focus on sports management-related titles, I was enthusiastic to embark on this creative endeavor. As the sole artist in the company, I held a pivotal position in shaping the visual identity of the games.
Working closely with the existing material, I ensured the seamless integration of new art while preserving the visual cohesiveness of the games. This delicate balance between innovation and consistency contributed to enhancing the overall gaming experience.
